Summer 2010

So, here we are. Summer. Sigh. Too damn hot, and way too damn humid. Kindergarten is over. Long live Kindergarten. 1st Grade is sure to be hellish by comparison. Somehow, I let myself get talked into separating the twins into different classes. Oy and Vey. I think it likely that I will be insane or dead before the first fall break.

'Dren start their first week of summer "Camp" on Monday. Must get stuff organized before then. Lunch slips to be filled out. Letter from Dr. about Autumn's medicine to procure. Back pack with swimsuits, towels, and spare clothes to be packed.
Hoping to do the following week as well, but we'll have to see. If they hate camp after the first couple of days, it'd be stupid to have wasted the money paying for a second week. Deposits non-refundable, blah blah blah. But if we don't reserve spots a week in advance, the camp may be full. Argh!

Having nightmarish time with HOA Treasurer duties as well. Really dislike some aspects of the job, but won't say because if you don't want it known by everyone, don't post it on the internet. Going to get sleep soon.
Good news is I'm reading WAY more books lately than I have in the past 6 years. Very happy about that. Looking hard at buying an e reader but not sure which one to invest in. Kindle is easy, but oversized and proprietary. Sony 505 is great size wise, but more expensive and has less selection. Nook ain't cheap either, but I'm checking it out as well. Wish I could test drive all of them for a couple of weeks and keep the one I like the best. Hah!

A new blog...

So I found this site through a good friend and now I'm wondering if I might use it for myself. To be honest, Facebook has been meeting most of my posting needs of late. Maybe I just don't have that much to say. OTOH, I believe that there are at least a couple of people who read most of what I post there, and sometimes the things I say tend to upset folks.
Then I see Elizabeth's wonderful looking Blog here and go hmmmm.... Maybe this has potential. If I post some thoughts here but don't tell anyone about it, then maybe I can actually post what I really feel without getting grief about it. It has potential. For now we'll see if I actually remember to use it and LEARN how to use it well.
